Architecture

AFFiNE combines the BlockSuite editor, shared frontend feature modules, platform applications, local-first storage, and an optional server for accounts, sync, collaboration, and cloud features.

• Navigation and workbench boundaries: navigation and workbench
• Client storage and sync (IndexedDB, SQLite, and cloud): packages/common/nbstore/
• Server modules and data layer: packages/backend/server/src/
• Electron main, helper, preload, and packaging code: packages/frontend/apps/electron/

Architecture changes should be scoped to a documented boundary and discussed with maintainers before implementation. Prefer the README nearest the target package over an older cross-repository diagram.
